Hello Kids
Welcome to your first virtual art class
I am going to write the topic for you and the objective that we have been developing in the last 4 classes, the idea is that today we will be finishing the face, because the next week we will continue with another activity.
I will be very specific with the steps that you must follow, the key words will help you enrich your vocabulary, not only in the language but also in the subject.
You have 45 minutes of class to work on the activity and until Friday at 6 pm to send me the photo of the finished face through email linahernandez@gcmerylan.edu.co and through Skype as evidence of the activity.
Topic: face proportions
Objective: identify the proper way to draw a face with correct proportions
CC: Respect
Key words:
- Horizontal lines
- Vertically
- Features
- Step 1: Draw a wide circle
- Step 2: Draw 4 horizontal lines dividen the circle into 3 even bands. Remember that the space between the lines must be the same
- Step 3: Draw another fifth line below the circle. Finish the botttom part of the face by drawing an oval shape from the circle down to the fifth line, please remember to make the oval centered
- Step 4: Divide the face vertically into five even columns. Draw a horizontal line in the middle of the last horizontal band.
- Step 5: Draw all the features, the eyes, the ears, the mouth, the nose
- Step 6: You could ad shadow with a 2B or 4B pecil in a softer way, please don't forget to take a photo to send it to me
Here is a self portrait I made when I was on first semester of the university

We will see this videos to undestand how the color light is process in our eyes
There are two main types of color mixing: additive color mixing and subtractive color mixing. Additive color mixing is creating a new color by a process that adds one set of wavelengths to another set of wavelengths. Additive color mixing is what happens when lights of different wavelengths are mixed. When we add all of the different wavelengths of sunlight, we see white light rather than many individual colors. It is called additive because all of the wavelengths still reach our eyes. It is the combination of different wavelengths that creates the diversity of colors. Subtractive color mixing is creating a new color by the removal of wavelengths from a light with a broad spectrum of wavelengths. Subtractive color mixing occurs when we mix paints, dyes, or pigments. When we mix paints, both paints still absorb all of the wavelengths they did previously, so what we are left with is only the wavelengths that both paints reflect. It is called subtractive mixing because when the paints mix, wavelengths are deleted from what we see because each paint will absorb some wavelengths that the other paint reflects, thus leaving us with a lesser number of wavelengths remaining afterward. So the easy way to remember the difference between additive and subtractive color mixing is that additive color mixing is what happens when we mix lights of different colors whereas subtractive color mixing occurs when we mix paints or other colored material.
Use this activity to explore color mixing and its various properties.
