Welcome to the art virtual class

As a warm-up, we are going to do a moana karaoke, the corresponding movie to Transition

After the singing warm up, we are going to make a sculpture with recycled material, it is important that we understand the value that we must give to our environment, being aware of all the waste that we produce.

On the other hand this water bottle fish craft is both easy and fun for kids of all ages. The fish designs are endless. I think you are going to love to create these underwater friends.

So here is the Materials and Steps to develop them

MATERIALS NEEDED 

• Water Bottle
• Scissors
• Tape
• Acrilic Paints colours or graphic markers
• Some sort of table covering to protect your table. (You could used a paper plate for the kids to work on)
• Liquid silicone or Any glue for plastic
• Large Google Eye or crazy eyes

WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS 

1. Take the lid off an empty water bottle and squish the bottle flat from about the middle of the bottle all the way to the bottom. Leave the front part puffy. If it does get flat, you can always put your finger in the mouth opening of the bottle and push the sides back out.
2. Cut off the bottom of the bottle about an inch up. You can make this a flat line or curve it to create an interesting shaped back fin.
3. Cut triangular notches in the side of the bottle to differentiate the back fin from the rest of the fish body.
4. Tape the triangle cut outs with clear tape so there is no longer exposed holes. This will make a more finished look and add a layer of protection from the sharp edges. You can tape the back of the fish as well if you are concerned with the kids getting cut. The paint will cover the tape.
5. Using Acrilyc colours paints or graphic markers, paint your own design onto your fish. You could do a Google image search for tropical fish designs to help spark out imagination. If you are layering colors, you will want to let paints dry in between. 
6. Once dry, add a large google eye with a liquid silicone dot. We made one sided fish, but you could easily complete both sides.

This would be a great project for our class room. I could see these dangling from the ceiling  for our summer classroom.

Cordial saludo a los niños y padres

Bienvenidos a la clase virtual de arte.

• Como calentamiento, vamos a hacer un karaoke moana, la película correspondiente al grado de Transición.

• Después del calentamiento, haremos una escultura con material reciclado; es importante como ciudadanos de nuestro planeta que comprendamos el valor que debemos dar a nuestro medio ambiente, ser conscientes de todos los desechos que producimos y aprovecharlos de una buena forma con esta actividad.
• Por otro lado, este trabajo artístico con botella plástica de agua es fácil y divertida para niños de todas las edades. Los diseños de peces son infinitos. Creo que les encantará crear estos amigos submarinos.

Así que aquí están los Materiales y Pasos para desarrollarlos.

MATERIALES NECESARIOS

Botella de agua

tijeras

Cinta transparente

Colores de pinturas acrílicas o marcadores gráficos

Algún tipo de cubierta de mesa para proteger su mesa. (Podrías usar un plato de papel para que los niños trabajen)

Silicona líquida o cualquier pegamento para plástico

Ojos locos

INSTRUCCIONES

• Quita la tapa de una botella de agua vacía y aplane la botella desde la mitad de la botella hasta el fondo. Deje la parte delantera hinchada. Si se aplana, siempre puede poner el dedo en la abertura de la boca de la botella y empujar los lados hacia afuera.
• Corte el fondo de la botella aproximadamente una pulgada hacia arriba. Puede hacer que esta sea una línea plana o curva para crear una aleta trasera con forma interesante.
• Corte muescas triangulares en el costado de la botella para diferenciar la aleta trasera del resto del cuerpo del pez.
• Pegue con cinta adhesiva los recortes triangulares para que no haya más agujeros expuestos. Esto dará un aspecto más acabado y agregará una capa de protección contra los bordes afilados. También puede pegar con cinta adhesiva la parte posterior del pez si le preocupa que los niños se corten. La pintura cubrirá la cinta.
• Usando pinturas de colores acrílicos o marcadores gráficos, pintar tu propio diseño en tu pez. Podrías hacer una búsqueda en Google de diseños de peces tropicales para ayudar a despertar la imaginación. Si estás colocando colores en capas,  recuerda dejar que las capas de pintura se sequen antes de aplicar otras encima.
• Una vez seco, pegue un ojo loco con un punto de silicona líquida, como estamos haciendo un pescado de un lado, pero puedes completar fácilmente ambos lados con otro ojo.

Este sera un gran proyecto para nuestra clase. Podemos colgarlos del techo para decorar nuestro salón con la temática de verano.

Dear parents and children, with this last activity we will close what we learned in the period. 

It is a closing activity that not only involves the manual skills learned by the kids, it also involves a reflection that I consider important at the moment: To understand the value that we must give to our environment, being more aware of all the waste we produce.

• It is for you to develop it during your vacation period, you have til 20th april 2020

EGG CARTON WHALE CRAFT FOR KIDS

Egg cartons are one of those hidden gems in the crafting world. Not only are they a great for recycled crafts, but egg cartons can also create amazing three dimensional crafts/scultures. For this time we will create a whale!

MATERIAL NEEDED:

• Egg carton
• Light blue paint
• Paintbrush
• Light Blue cardstock paper or white paper you could paint
• Blue pipe cleaner
• Googly eyes
• Black marker
• Tacky glue or liquid silicone
• Scissors
• Craft knife of big scissors (for adult use only)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE WHALE CRAFT

1. Start with a whole egg carton and cut it into individual sections. Depending on how many whales you would like to make, you can use an egg carton that fits 6 eggs, 12 or even 18. After you have cut the carton apart, paint each section with blue paint and let it dry completely.

2. Use a craft knife or big scissors (for adult use only) to cut an X at the top of each egg carton piece. This will become the blowhole of the whale craft.

3. Next, take a blue pipe cleaner and cut it in half. Take the 2 new shorter pipe cleaners and bend those in half. Intertwine them together at the bend.

4. Pinch the intertwined pipe cleaner ends together and push them through the X at the top of the blue egg carton. Leave the intertwined section inside, so it’s no longer visible. Bend or curl the top ends of the pipe cleaners, so it look like water blowing out of the whale in the ocean.

5. Cut a whale tail and fins out of blue cardstock paper. Use tacky glue to glue the paper tail and fins to the egg carton. I put some glue on the inside of the egg carton and tucked the tail up inside the egg carton. Use the picture as your guide.

6. After your ocean animal has his tail and fins, finish it off by adding eyes and a mouth. You can glue googly eyes on your egg carton whale craft or draw eyes with a black marker. The black marker is also works for drawing on the mouth.

Estimados padres e hijos, con esta última actividad cerraremos lo aprendidos en el período.
Es una actividad de cierre que no solo involucra el conocimiento y las habilidades manuales aprendidas por los niños, sino que también implica  una reflexión que considero importante en este momento: comprender el valor que debemos dar a nuestro medio ambiente al ser más conscientes de todos los desechos que producimos.

ESCULTURA DE BALLENA CON CARTÓN DE HUEVO

Los cartones de huevos son una de esas gemas ocultas en el mundo de la fabricación. No solo son excelentes para artesanías recicladas, sino que los cartones de huevos también pueden crear increíbles esculturas tridimensionales. ¡En nuestro caso crearemos una ballena!



MATERIAL NECESARIO:

Carton de huevos
Pintura azul claro
Cepillo de pintura
Papel de cartulina azul claro o papel blanco que podrías pintar
Limpia pipas azul
Ojos saltones
Marcador negro
Colbon o silicona líquida
tijeras
Navaja arsanal o tijeras grandes (solo para adultos)

INSTRUCCIONES PARA LA ARTESANÍA DE BALLENAS

1. Comience con un cartón de huevos entero y córtelo en secciones individuales. Dependiendo de cuántas ballenas te gustaría hacer, puedes usar un cartón de huevos que se ajuste a 6 huevos, 12 o incluso 18. Después de cortar el cartón, pinta cada sección con pintura azul y deja que se seque por completo.


2. Use un cuchillo para manualidades o tijeras grandes (solo para adultos) para cortar una X en la parte superior de cada pieza de cartón de huevos. Esto se convertirá en el orificio de la nave de las ballenas.

3. Luego, tome un limpiapipas azul y córtelo por la mitad. Tome los 2 nuevos limpiadores de tuberías más cortos y dóblelos por la mitad. Entrelazarlos juntos en la curva.


4. Pellizque los extremos entrelazados del limpiapipas y empújelos a través de la X en la parte superior del cartón de huevos azul. Deje la sección entrelazada dentro para que ya no sea visible. Dobla o riza los extremos superiores de los limpiapipas, para que parezca que sale agua de la ballena en el océano.

5. Corte una cola de ballena y aletas de papel de cartulina azul o el papel que posean en casa. Use colbon o silicona liquida para pegar la cola de papel y las aletas al cartón de huevos. Puse un poco de pegamento en el interior del cartón de huevos y metí la cola dentro del cartón de huevos. Usa la imagen como guía.

6. Después de que su animal marino tenga su cola y aletas, termínelo agregando ojos y una boca. Puede pegar ojos saltones en su cartón de huevos de ballenas o dibujar ojos con un marcador negro. El marcador negro también funciona para dibujar en la boca.

Welcome Back to the art virtual class


As a warm-up, we are going to sing a boat song

For today, April 21st 2020, we will continue with the recycled materials sculptures/crafts.

First of all I will share a reflection about it for you to understand a little bit more the important of it, here you got:

• Recycling is important in today’s world if we want to leave this planet for our future generations. It is good for the environment, since we are making new products from the old products which are of no use to us. Recycling begins at home. If you are not throwing away any of your old product and instead utilizing it for something new then you are actually recycling. When you think of recycling you should really think about the whole idea; reduce, reuse and recycle. We've been careless up to this point with the way we've treated the Earth and it's time to change; not just the way we do things but the way we think.

So, for today, the activity will be PLASTIC BOTTLE BOATS! It will be marvelous sculptures made by you, but also you will have new toys made by your own hands.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Plastic bottles of various sizes (needs to be flat on one side)
• lids (matching or otherwise)
• Sticky contact, stickers or Waterproof decorations + hot glue
• Or coloured permanent markers
• Wooden sticks/dowel

TO MAKE

1.   Using a blade or scissors, remove one side of the bottle (definitely an adult job).
2. Decorate with coloured contact cut into shapes or stick on some waterproof decorations using hot glue. or added some details with permanent markers.
3. Make sure you have a lid on your bottle so the water doesn't get in and sink your boat. 
4. To erect the mast, stick some dowel into a small lid and fill it with hot glue. When dry, glue the lid to the inside base of the boat. It doesn't really matter what you use here but something plastic and flat is ideal for the sail. 

When you are happy with your designs, get sailing!! These boats are amazingly sturdy and can hold small toy passengers too!

Bienvenidos de nuevo a la clase virtual de arte

Para hoy, 21 de abril de 2020, continuaremos con las esculturas / artesanías de materiales reciclados.
En primer lugar, compartiré una reflexión al respecto para que entiendan un poco más lo importante que es el proceso que estamos desarrollando:

• El reciclaje es importante en el mundo de hoy si queremos dejar este planeta para nuestras generaciones futuras. Es bueno para el medio ambiente, ya que estamos haciendo nuevos productos a partir de los productos antiguos que no nos son de utilidad. El reciclaje comienza en casa. Si no estás desechando ninguno de tus productos antiguos y, en su lugar, lo estás utilizando para algo nuevo, en realidad estás reciclando (como en este caso, que estamos utilizando botellas plásticas). Cuando piensas en reciclar, realmente deberías pensar en la idea completa; Reduce, reusa y recicla. Hasta ahora hemos sido descuidados con la forma en que tratamos a la Madre Tierra, así que es momento de cambiar; no solo la forma en que hacemos las cosas sino la forma en que pensamos.

Entonces, por hoy, la actividad será ¡BARCOS DE BOTELLAS DE PLÁSTICO! Serán esculturas maravillosas hechas por ti, pero también tendrás nuevos juguetes hechos por tus propias manos.

QUE NECESITAS

• Botellas de plástico de varios tamaños (deben ser planas por un lado)
• tapas (coincidentes o no)
• Contac adhesivo, stickers o decoraciones impermeables + pegamento caliente
• o marcadores permanentes de colores
• Palos de madera / taco

CÓMO HACERLO


1. Usando unas o tijeras grandes, retire un lado de la botella (definitivamente un trabajo para adultos).
2. Decore con contact de color cortado en formas, o pegue algunas decoraciones impermeables con pegamento caliente o pinte con marcadores de colores.
3. Asegúrese de tener una tapa en su botella para que el agua no entre y hunda su bote.
4. Para levantar el mástil, pegue un poco de espiga en una tapa pequeña y llénelo con pegamento caliente. Cuando esté seco, pegue la tapa a la base interior de la embarcación. Realmente no importa lo que uses aquí, pero algo plástico y plano es ideal para la vela de nuestro barco.

Cuando estés contento con tus diseños, ¡empieza a navegar! ¡Estas embarcaciones son increíblemente resistentes y también pueden contener pequeños pasajeros, que puedes encontrar entre tus juguetes y volverlos parte de tu tripulación!

Welcome Back to the art virtual class


As a warm-up, we are going to sing a pirate song

So, for today, the activity will be ¡Pirates with their parrot! They will be wonderful sculptures made by you, but you will also have new crews or for our plastic bottles boats.

Materials you need to gather:

1. Toilet Rolls
2. Craft Paint
3. Paint Brush
4. Red, Black, White and Striped Paper or paint
5. Glue stick and/or White Glue
6. Clear Tape
7. Scissors
8. Feather or we could make it with paper
9. Markers
10. Blue and yellow tissue paper or paint
11. Clothespins
12. Googly Eyes

First, let’s prepare our toilet rolls!

Paint the top half of one toilet roll brown for the pirate’s face. Cut the other toilet roll in half for the parrot. (If you’d like, you can certainly use a whole toilet roll for the parrot. I cut mine in half so that he would be smaller than the pirate.)

Now let’s prep our decorative items!

For the pirate, you’ll need a front hat shape, a long black rectangle for the back of the hat, a striped rectangle for the shirt, and a long black rectangle for the pants. For the parrot, you’ll need a long red rectangle for the body, feet, a beak, and tissue paper cut into the shape of feathers.

To make the pirate:

Glue on the pants and then the shirt. 

Cut your white rectangular stickers (or paper) to create a skull and crossbones. 

Stick it to the front of your pirate hat. 

Then, glue the front and back of your hat to the tube. 

Use clothespins to keep things in place. 

When everything is dry, draw on details. 

Tape a feather to the inside of the toilet roll. 

Then, cut out a tiny triangle in the bottom to separate his legs.

To make the parrot:

Glue on your red rectangle. 

Then, glue on your tissue paper feathers starting from the bottom to the top. (tissue paper is quite flimsy, so I used a glue stick here). 

Then, stick on your white stickers. Add googly eyes. 

Then, draw a black circle between your eyes.  

Then, glue on your beak and your little feet. 

Add any extra details with markers.

Como calentamiento, vamos a cantar una canción pirata

Entonces, por hoy, la actividad será ¡Piratas con su loro! Serán maravillosas esculturas hechas por usted, pero también tendrá nuevas tripulaciones o para nuestros botes de botellas de plástico.

Materiales que necesita reunir:

Rollos de papel higiénico

Pintura de colores azul, blanco, amarillo, rojo

Cepillo de pintura

Papel rojo, negro, blanco y rayado o pintura

Barra de pegamento y / o cola blanca

Cinta adhesiva transparente

tijeras

Pluma

Marcadores

Papel de seda azul y amarillo o pintura

Pinzas para la ropa

Ojos saltones

Opcional: pegatinas rectangulares blancas

Primero, ¡preparemos nuestros rollos de papel higiénico!

Pinta la mitad superior de un rollo de papel marrón para la cara del pirata. Corta el otro papel higiénico por la mitad para el loro. (Si lo desea, puede usar un rollo de papel higiénico completo para el loro. Corté el mío por la mitad para que fuera más pequeño que el pirata).

¡Ahora preparemos nuestros artículos decorativos!

Para el pirata, necesitaremos una forma de sombrero delantero, un rectángulo negro largo para la parte posterior del sombrero, un rectángulo a rayas para la camisa y un rectángulo negro largo para los pantalones. Para el loro, necesitarás un rectángulo rojo largo para el cuerpo, las patas, el pico y el papel de seda cortado en forma de plumas.

Para hacer al pirata:

Pega los pantalones y luego la camisa.

Corta tus pegatinas rectangulares blancas (o papel) para crear una calavera y huesos cruzados.

Pégalo al frente de tu sombrero de pirata.

Luego, pegue la parte delantera y trasera de su sombrero al tubo.

Use pinzas para la ropa para mantener las cosas en su lugar.

Cuando todo esté seco, recurra a los detalles.

Pega una pluma al interior del papel higiénico.

Luego, corta un pequeño triángulo en la parte inferior para separar sus piernas.

Para hacer el loro:

Pega tu rectángulo rojo.

Luego, pegue las plumas de papel de seda comenzando desde abajo hacia arriba. (el papel de seda es bastante endeble, así que usé una barra de pegamento aquí)

Luego, pegue sus pegatinas blancas. Agrega ojos saltones.

So, for today the activity will be the development of a fish with air dry clay, this video will help us in the development 

Materials you need to gather:

1. a letter size sheet of bond paper

3. a plastic bag (large / trash can) to cover our work surface

5. one transparent bag

7. A container for water and a cloth that we can keep wet
8. An apron
9. kitchen roller or pvc pipe

Welcome to the art virtual class

As a warm-up, we are going sing a leprechaun song to develop our St. Patrick day puppet

This year for St. Patrick’s Day add something extra special to your holiday celebrations by creating these awesome leprechaun finger puppets.

These adorable little leprechaun finger puppets are great for kids of all ages, especially for preschoolers. Preschool is a great time to work on strengthening fine motor muscles in the hands and fingers and that makes these leprechaun finger puppets a perfect compliment to your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

SUPPLIES FOR LEPRECHAUN FINGER PUPPETS

• leprechaun finger puppets template (image attached at the bottom)
• white cardstock
• pencil for tracing
• green cardstock
• orange cardstock
• cream cardstock
• black cardstock
• small googly eyes
• small orange craft pom or wool or plasticine
• fine tip black marker
• extra strength glue stick
• scissors

Template to print it or to copy

INSTRUCTIONS FOR LEPRECHAUN FINGER PUPPETS

1. Begin by downloading and printing out the leprechaun finger puppets template on white paper. Cut out each of the pieces of the template.

2. Grab your pencil and use it to trace each of the pieces of the template on your colored cardstock. Trace the leprechaun rectangle body and rectangle bottom of the hat on green cardstock. Then trace the large beard shape on orange cardstock. Finally trace the leprechaun face on cream cardstock and the brim of the hat on black cardstock.

3. Cut out each of the traced template pieces on the different colored cardstock.

4. Place the leprechaun body template on top of the green one you’ve just cut out and line them up together as a guide. Use your 3/4-inch circle punch to cut out the two circles at the bottom of the rectangle. This creates the holes for you to place your finger in after your leprechaun puppet is created.

5. Glue the cream leprechaun face onto the orange beard. Using scissors, carefully cut strips along the entire perimeter of the beard. Just make sure to not cut into the face of the leprechaun.

TIME TO ASSEMBLE YOUR LEPRECHAUN PUPPETS TOGETHER

6. Add glue on the back of your leprechaun beard and glue it onto the green leprechaun body, leaving only a small amount of space above the finger puppet holes.

7. Now glue the bottom of the hat at the top of the leprechaun head. Finish by gluing the small black rectangle on the hat.

8. Use an extra strength glue stick or school glue to glue small googly eyes onto your leprechaun craft. Then glue a small orange pom on your leprechaun for a nose.

9. Grab your fine tip black marker and use it to draw a smile on your leprechaun craft.

10. For a finishing touch, add a four-leaf clover embellishment or sticker on the brim of the leprechaun hat.

Welcome to the art closure virtual class

As a warm-up, we are going see an mermaid song video

So grab your paper tubes because we’re making a hula girl and her mermaid friend! fun fun fun

Here’s all you’ll need to make this adorable craft!

Materials:

• Toilet Roll Cores
• Cardboard (pink, black, yellow, green, purple, brown)
• Glue
• Scissors
• Markers (Sharpies are best)
• Glitter Glue Pens or just glitter (easier to use than loose glitter! and less cleanup!!)
• Paint (peach, tan, or brown).
• Paint Brush (thick and soft)

First, paint your toilet paper tubes in peach, tan, or brown. (I didn’t have any of those colors, so I mixed together orange, green, and white to create a nice tan color.) Once the paint is dry, draw on the faced with your Sharpie marker.

Cut out the hair, bra, skirt, and tail bits from brightly coloured cardboard. Use your glitter glue pens and Sharpie markers to add the fun details.

Notes:

• To make the hair, I simply cut out a long horizontal piece to make the bangs, and shorter pieces to make strands of hair.
• I made two tails for the mermaid and waited until the end to decide which one I liked the best.
• To make the grass skirt, I cut some paper fringe.

Curl your cardboard hair strips around a marker to create wavy hair.

Glue everything onto your toilet paper tubes to create your dolls!  Here’s our happy hula girl…. (isn’t the coconut shell bikini just hilarious :) )

EASY ORIGAMI WHALE CRAFT FOR KIDS

That’s exactly the beauty of origami – taking something as insignificant as a scrap of paper and turning it into a beautiful creation. It’s no wonder then, that this art form that has been around since the sixth century still retains all its original charm.

Origami is the Japanese word for the oriental art of paper folding. Ori means to fold and kami means paper, and together the word refers to the craft of folding paper into objects without cutting, pasting or decorating the paper. This form of craft has been practiced in the Orient for centuries, and involves certain paper folding techniques with which you can create animals, flowers, boxes or anything your heart desires. Today, we’ve got a cute little origami whale for you, with a full step-by-step tutorial!

Materials Required:

• Craft paper that is blue at least on one side
• Scissors
• Paper glue (if required)

Step by step procedure for making  the Origami Whale:

1.If your craft paper is not a perfect square, you’ll need to make it a square of either 10×10 or 12×12. Fold the paper diagonally from one corner and cut off the excess.

2.Fold inwards from one side to meet the crease in the center (make sure the blue side of the paper is outside and the white stays inside).

3. Fold in a small triangle from the top to make the face.

4. . Fold the paper longitudinally in half.

5. Make a fold at the other end for the tail.

6. With a pair of scissors, make a small slit at the folded part of the tail so that it can be separated

7.Make smaller folds at both ends of the tail so that it looks like the picture.

8. It’s time to fix the eyes! You can either stick on small googly eyes or just mark them with a black sharpie.

Your adorable little whale is ready to hit the water!
